'Life' - was one of the many devised performances I was privileged enough to be apart of. I was given a lot of freedom with this role and experimentation. After only knowing Sean Gibson for a few months, he was acting as my director for this piece. Because we were already close friends we had a great actor to director connection. The main theme of this piece was as described with the title, to highlight 'Life' and it's main themes, birth, love and death. I was featured in 'love' and 'death'

One of the main learning experiences for me as an actor, was 'learning to cry', however at the time, I was reading one of UTA Hagen's books and it goes into detail with the overall outcome being, if you cry, you cry if you don't, you don't. But more importantly it's in the facial expressions. Hearing her talk about it overall made me feel much better about the approach to this particular scene. Fortunately I managed to cry a few times throughout rehearsals however, I believe that when it came to performance I struggled. Once I realised that it simply wasn't going to happen, as an actor, I took a different approach to the scene, with emotions and reactions that I thought would make more sense.
