Sleep Experiment

Sleep Experiment - inspiration from a creepy pasta, directed by Morgan Jay. a devised performance I was privileged enough to be apart of. I was playing 'Hunter, age 25, former police officer.'. Hunter to me was a character that felt familiar. He suffered from with a painful past and was looking for an easy way to make money. The Sleep Experiment was offering a sum of cash for the participants when the experiment had been completed.

Morgan's demonstration of time displacement throughout the piece was constructed extremely well. Ranging from multiple scenes taking place at different moments during the experiment. This allowed the audience to feel the same insanity as what the characters were feeling during the experiment.

One of the tougher challenges that came from this piece was keeping track of what scene we were on since there wasn't a chronological order. This character also was one of those characters that as the actor, I had to fill in the blanks for. Hunter wanted to be left alone, but as he got more comfortable with the other participants he would find himself jogging on the spot etc...
